North Yorkshire police issues appeal for catching burglar with the help of CCTV

North Yorkshire Police released fresh CCTV footage in a bid to trace a suspect connected to a sneak-in burglary at an elderly man’s home in a Swaledale village, a news report in the local media has revealed.

Detectives issued images of the suspect entering the victim’s house on two separate occasions, and it is believed that cash was stolen from the victim’s wallet at least once.

Detective Constable Karl Middlemiss said: “This is an audacious and cowardly crime, targeting an elderly and vulnerable person in their own home.

“We urge members of the public to contact us as a matter of urgency if they can help identify the suspect in the images. The man is seen entering the victim’s home, followed by a vigilant neighbour who challenged his presence in the house.”
