International airport set to deploy facial recognition CCTV systems

The busiest international airport in Romania is set to upgrade its CCTV surveillance systems in order to extend the overall coverage, as well as adding facial recognition, a news report has been able to suggest.

According to a report, the EUR 8.8 million upgrade will include a facial recognition and automatic license plate number recognition solution, as well as an extension of the area covered by video surveillance.

The CCTV system will be extended to areas currently not covered including public areas, technical areas, airport platforms, lounges and any other areas where video surveillance is required to ensure airport security.
