It seems that surveillance equipment manufacturers and installers have a very bright future ahead of them, given the fact that sales for surveillance equipment (especially wireless solutions) are set to increase by an impressive 160 percent between 2011 and 2013, according to a recent report.

So, the compound rate of growth for wireless infrastructure equipment for video surveillance between 2011 and 2017 is estimated to attain around 17%, which will translate into an increase of revenue of roughly 160% over the period.

According to the same report, in 2012, sales of video surveillance wireless infrastructure equipment rose by 11% and IMS expects an increase of 15% this year.

While UK and US growth remains steady, the most important boom in the market will actually be recorded in the emerging markets, with China estimated to be the fastest-growing global market, achieving annual expansion of 28.8% through to 2017. The rest of Asia will follow with 27.9%. Elsewhere, IMS projects annual growth of 23.1% for Mexico and 17.4% for Brazil.
